Kentucky Spring Premier Horse Show
History

In 1990 Kentucky Spring Premier was born from the wishes of a small group of American Saddlebred enthusiasts who were interested establishing a quality spring horse show. The idea was to have a spring venue to showcase the American Saddlebred horse, along with Hackney ponies, Roadsters and Saddle Seat Equitation at the Kentucky Horse Park. In 2007 we added Friesian and Morgan Divisions.

The only dates available for the covered arena were on Kentucky Derby weekend and the first year we had 175 entries for a two-day show. The second year we increased to 300 entries and the show is now attracting 400 to 500 entries each year. The show now consistently attracts some of the top stables in the country and has become a place to try out new horses, new riders or new combinations.

The show tries to have a laid-back atmosphere while allowing exhibitors a first class horse show in a beautiful setting. There is nothing more beautiful than Kentucky in the springtime and no place on earth is more spectacular than the Kentucky Horse Park.

We hope you will come join us at the Kentucky Spring Premier American Saddlebred Horse Show.
